I have MND and it is learning to live with me …
Inspired as always by the incredible MND community, Rob, Lindsey and the whole Burrow family, the MND team who look after me and my family and Leeds Hospital's Charities Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal we've decided to ramp it up a little this year!
We sincerely hope you can join us on at least one of our challenges.
12th May - We look forward to returning to the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon with #TeamFlatt hoping to beat our time of 6 hours and 3 minutes from 2023.
15th June - our biggest challenge yet; 7 Mountains, 3 Countries, 1 Goal
21st June is Global MND Awareness Day, a day of recognition for people living with Motor Neurone Disease around the world, and of those everywhere working in the search for causes, treatments and ultimately a cure.
7th July has become synonymous with Rob and has become known as Rob Burrow Day.
We hope to complete all 7 mountains in my off road wheelchair, affectionately known as the Tangerine Dream Machine, however it will simply not be possible without a team of people to help navigate the rough terrain, deploy the climbing ramps and of course support my medical needs. As well as friends and family, we’d really like to encourage as many people as possible to come and walk with us, to join us on any particular mountain.
We will be raising funds to support the Leeds Hospitals Charity Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Appeal. This state-of-the-art MND Care Centre has become a beacon of hope for those living with or affected by MND, it will without doubt give people with MND and their families the best possible care and support.
